Introduction of two tea cultivars with the names of "Kashif" and "Lahij" by the researchers of the Tea Research Institute 

After about 20 years of research, the researchers of the Genetics and Breeding Group succeeded in obtaining 75 genotypes of local tea, and among these genotypes, several were presented as promising clones to introduce the cultivar.

Promising clones 100 and 444 were the top two genotypes in the selected genotype collection, which were submitted to the cultivar introduction committee for review in the form of cultivar introduction report.

Finally, Promising clone100 was registered as "Kashif" cultivar and 444 as "Lahij" cultivar were registered and introduced.
